Ankit Raj: From Setbacks to Startup Success and Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs
If Ankit Raj had to describe his life in one phrase, he would call it a roller coaster ride. There have been moments when he felt he was at the top of the world and moments when he felt completely lost. But somewhere between those highs and lows, Ankit learned one of the most important lessons of his life: falling is not the end if you are willing to rise again.
Hailing from Madhubani, Bihar, Ankit Raj is a 22-year-old student entrepreneur currently pursuing B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering in his third year. His journey into entrepreneurship did not begin with a business plan or a dream of becoming an entrepreneur. It started with curiosity, college activities and his involvement in the E Cell and startup ecosystem.
Discovering the World of Entrepreneurship
When Ankit entered college, entrepreneurship was not something he knew much about. His perspective gradually changed after he became involved with the E Cell and Startup Cell.
For nearly two and a half years, Ankit actively worked in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. He took on leadership responsibilities, organized events, participated in competitions, worked closely with startups, and helped fellow students better understand entrepreneurship.
The experience changed the way he looked at his own future.
Eventually, Ankit realized that he did not want to spend his time only talking about entrepreneurship. He wanted to build something of his own.
That decision became the beginning of a much bigger chapter in his life.
When Everything Seemed to Be Going Right
The beginning of 2025 was one of the highest points of Ankit Raj’s journey.
His team participated in the National Entrepreneurship Challenge at IIT Bombay and achieved a major milestone. Around the same period, the team also won at EUREKA, IIT Bombay.
Everything appeared to be falling into place.
Ankit was receiving recognition, new opportunities were coming his way, and people were appreciating his efforts. After years of learning and working, he felt that he was finally moving towards the future he had imagined.
But life had something completely different planned.
On 15 February 2025, Ankit received shocking news that completely changed his situation. It felt like everything he had built emotionally and academically had suddenly been shaken.
The fall was as sudden as the rise.
The Six Months That Changed Ankit Raj
A small misunderstanding resulted in a major setback for Ankit. A difference of just 0.01 in CGPA became significant enough to affect an important phase of his life.
For many people, 0.01 may seem like a very small number. For Ankit, it became a turning point.
The following six months were among the most difficult periods of his life. He experienced disappointment, self-doubt, loneliness, and uncertainty about what would happen next.
The difficult phase also changed his understanding of relationships.
Some friends whom Ankit considered close began backbiting about him. Some people who had been around him during his successful period slowly disappeared. A few even unfollowed him on Instagram.
That experience made him realize something important about life. You do not always know who genuinely stands beside you until you go through a difficult phase.
Instead of allowing the experience to defeat him, Ankit decided to continue.
Building FABROX From a Difficult Phase
Ankit Raj kept learning, working, and building. He continued focusing on his startup and refused to let one difficult chapter define his entire story.
This was when FABROX became an important part of his journey.
Slowly, the work started producing results. In its very first financial year, FABROX achieved more than ₹20 lakh in revenue. For Ankit, the achievement meant much more than a financial milestone.
It represented the fact that he had managed to keep moving despite everything he had gone through.
The recognition continued to grow. FABROX secured recognition through entrepreneurship competitions and platforms, while Ankit began receiving opportunities to mentor and guide other young entrepreneurs.
He was selected as a Mentor by E Cell IIT Bombay for the National Entrepreneurship Challenge. FABROX also received recognition through the Tally MSME Honours Award 2026.
Today, Ankit continues to work on FABROX to make the company stronger and take it to the next level.
Despite these achievements, he does not consider himself successful yet.
For him, the journey is continuing.
When Life Came Full Circle
One of the most interesting parts of Ankit Raj’s story came when some people from his past started returning.
People who had once distanced themselves from him began contacting him again. Some reached out for references, connections, and help.
Ankit could have chosen to ignore them.
Instead, he chose to help.
His reason was simple. He believes that another person’s behaviour should not decide what kind of human being he becomes.
If he can help someone, he will.
At the same time, his experiences taught him an important difference between being kind and being available to everyone. He learned that forgiveness and kindness do not necessarily mean giving everyone the same place in your life.
From Struggle to Inspiring Students
Perhaps the most meaningful part of Ankit Raj’s journey is how his struggles have become a source of inspiration for others.
Today, he has been invited as a guest motivational speaker at more than 25 colleges across Bihar. He gets the opportunity to speak with students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and young people who are trying to find their own direction.
Many of them consider Ankit an inspiration, something he describes as a proud moment.
When he speaks, he does not pretend to have everything figured out. Instead, he shares the reality of his journey.
He talks about success, failure, disappointment, self-doubt, difficult phases and the importance of continuing to move forward.
His message to young entrepreneurs is simple: difficult phases are a part of the journey. There may be times when everything feels like it is over, but giving up should never be the answer.
As Ankit believes, darkness does not always mean the end. Sometimes, it is simply preparing the way for a new beginning.
What Ankit Raj’s Journey Teaches Us
Ankit Raj’s journey is a reminder that success is rarely a straight line.
One day everything can seem perfect. The next day, a single event can make you question your plans, your abilities and even yourself.
But neither success nor failure lasts forever.
Ankit has experienced both sides. He has seen recognition, opportunities and achievements. He has also experienced disappointment, loneliness and the loss of relationships.
What separates his story from many others is that he chose not to stop.
He continued building FABROX. He continued learning. He continued helping others. He continued believing that his circumstances could change.
Today, he has a growing company, entrepreneurship recognition, mentoring opportunities and a platform to inspire students across Bihar.
Yet he knows that this is not the final destination.
There will be more highs, and there may be more lows. After all, his life has always felt like a roller coaster.
But now he understands something he did not know before.
He may not be able to control how quickly life takes him up or brings him down, but he can control whether he chooses to get back up.
